The Flood of 2008

The first photo was taken some time in April, notice the height of the pilings, the chairs, fire pit and the angle of the gang plank.

The next photo is what I saw the following day I got home from Santa Cruz, May 20th. With the unusually warm weather and the 480 " of record snow fall received in the mountains, the lake rose fast.
In the third photo I am rescuing chairs, wheel barrows and anything else I could reach. The water will rise another foot and a half in the next days to come. Notice the height of the pilings and the pitch of the gang plank now.
It was very surreal to look out on the lake on Memorial Day and not see any boats, as the sheriffs office enforced a no wake ordinance. Yesterday, even though the lake is still 5' above summer lake level, the ban was lifted and the crazies where out dodging logs, branches and other miscellaneous debris.Where did my fire pit go?
